From operating a single hotel property in Singapore, the Cairnhill Group has grown to become a regional player in Asia. Cairnhill Group is strategically diversified and garnered a reputation as extremely progressive and continually innovative in the hospitality industry throughout Asia Pacific.

The Group has its roots in Cairnhill Hotel Singapore when the Tan family from Malaysia moved to the Republic. In 1979, Mr. Tan Kim Haiand his family purchased a vacant building at Cairnhill Circle, just off Singapore’s tourist belt, Orchard Road. They converted the building into a 220-room business class hotel and named it Cairnhill Hotel. The hotel was subsequently sold in 1999 during the peak of the property cycle in 1999. With the sale, Cairnhill Group Holdings was formally established. Its aim was to diversify into hospitality-related businesses.
